Thanks for all the advice, yeah I was using the Focusrite driver as opposed to the generic low latency one and it still wasnt having it.For a better experience, please enable JavaScript in your browser before proceeding.
Generic Low Latency Asio Cubase Software Driver As OpposedGeneric Low Latency Asio Cubase Software Drivers Loaded IntoHad some trouble getting the old hackintosh thing to work on my PC so I could run Logic so just said sod it and started learning Cubase All good so far, except I keep getting really annoying lag spikes or something in the audio when Ive got more than 1 or 2 things running, for instance 2 separate guitar rigs on 2 channels will upset things Ive got a nice PC with loads of ram and solid state and all that shit, Focusrite 2i4 with the drivers loaded into Windows 10. Have tried pissing about with the buffer rate, and it kinda works if I set it to 1024, but the lag from guitarkeyboard makes them unplayable. I saw on youtube a video about this and the dude was going on about going into my BIOS settings and turning off turbo mode or some shit on my CPU, which I tried which helped a bit but things still werent perfect after that so I turned it back on Out of ideas really, so thought Id turn to you guys who pretty much taught me everything I know all those years ago. Just a stupid question: do you use the ASIO drivers in Cubase, or the DirectSound version If not, try to switch to the ASIO version, you should be able to lower the buffer size to get to 256 samples and have almost zero latency. Ive always used asio if not its always has horrible stutter and lag. I normally find Guitar Rig is extremely light, whereas Ozone Little Alter Boy for example very quickly eat up CPU. So its surprising youre having issues - could be worth reinstalling the Focusrite audio driver from scratch just in case, as I can t understand why it its not giving you the option to lower your latency setting below 1024. Its been like that since first in Ive recently gone back to my Ableton.but naaaa happy with cubase been using it since I was 18. Generic Low Latency Asio Cubase Software Mac Online NowI dont even turn my Mac online now as Im conscious of these tec companies constantly putting out bugs. I cant afford a new soundcard or MAC so I just keep praying every day these things keep working together. I can get less than 1ms latency if I want to on most VST synths 96khz. Sound quality is up there with the best converters on the market. DSP mixer for routing spare inputs to mastering chain or whatever external hardware effects you want. Marian dont seem to be as popular as RME or Lynx, which is odd as theyre similar specd but cost much less. Id even dig out a firewire card before I went USB for audio.
